About The Position

Geisinger Convenient Care is a walk-in clinic providing quick, convenient healthcare for patients age one and older. Services include physicals, immunizations, and treatment for common illnesses and minor health concerns that can be addressed in a single visit.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides primary clinical support to providers, patients, and families in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions. The role supports continuity and quality of care through follow-up of diagnostic testing, patient communication, clinical documentation, and preparation of patients, rooms, equipment, and specimens. This position is per diem/additional. New and experienced LPN applicants are welcome. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.

Requirements

• Graduate from a nursing specialty training program.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.

• At least one year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, and vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations.
• Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
• Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record.
• Assist providers with minor surgical and diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
• Execute and document ongoing patient communication as directed by the provider, prioritize communications to the provider, and respond to patient questions and requests.
• Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under provider direction and within scope of practice.
• Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, maintain asepsis, and ensure appropriate instruments, equipment, and patient preparation.
• Promote a clean environment and comply with job-specific obligations, organizational policies, and procedures.
