Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an LPN for the Emergency Department (ED) - Level 1 Trauma Center. This is a full-time position with three 12-hour shifts per week, from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates. The Norfolk General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit, with approximately 10% of cases being trauma-related. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team offering patient care and supporting higher level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services. Sentara Norfolk General Emergency Department is recognized for its exceptional leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research, and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a Magnet Hospital. The facility is a 525-bed medical center, serves as a primary teaching facility, and is home to the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region. It also features four intensive care units and two intensive care units in its 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital.
