About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is seeking an LPN for its Transplant Center. The LPN collaborates with fellow caregivers to provide exceptional, high-quality care to a diverse patient population and supports patients across the lifespan. The role offers hands-on clinical experience, ongoing education, and professional development. The caregiver works days from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The position requires knowledge of patient care across the care continuum, including assessing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating patient progress in conjunction with an RN or physician. Work is primarily indoors in air-conditioned areas, with significant potential exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens. Personal protective equipment is required for clinical procedures and exposure to infectious waste.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.
• Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• One year of clinical experience.
• Transplant experience.
• One year of prior LPN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients.
• Administer medication.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
• Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
• Perform pain-management assessments and documentation.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
• Follow Code Blue protocol.
• Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient progress throughout the care continuum in conjunction with an RN or physician.
• Use required personal protective equipment and follow Standard Precautions.
