As an LPN for Hematology/Oncology, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, high-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you will directly support the practices of two colorectal surgeons while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and the educational resources offered throughout the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

Graduate of Accredited LPN program
Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Knowledge of infection control practices
Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

One year of clinical experience
Previous experience in Oncology
Advanced knowledge of chemotherapy medications and protocols

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to patients.
Administer medication.
Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
Follow Code Blue protocol.
This position requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of car in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
