The Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute provides world-class care for a wide range of conditions. Our experienced, compassionate team diagnoses and treats benign and cancerous diseases in the digestive system, abdomen, breast and endocrine glands. We also provide bariatric surgery and nonsurgical weight loss treatments. As an LPN supporting the General/Bariatric Surgery department, you will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience
  • Outpatient or general surgery experience
  • Two years of LPN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.
  • Assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
