About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital’s Urgent and Outpatient Care Center in Plain Township is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its Urgent Care team. The LPN assists fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population and helps patients access medical care for common health problems. The role offers hands-on nursing experience and access to educational resources within the Cleveland Clinic system.

The caregiver works varying shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., including rotating weekends and holidays. Patient care is provided under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing.
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• One year of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician.
• Collect and document objective and subjective patient data and observations.
• Complete nursing assessments and report all data.
• Implement the current nursing care plan, medications, or treatments and communicate patients’ responses.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.
