About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Stow Health and Wellness Center, a patient-friendly facility offering primary care, emergency care, specialty services, and a medically based fitness program. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists fellow caregivers in providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population, with opportunities to build nursing skills through hands-on experience and educational resources within the Cleveland Clinic system.

The caregiver provides patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and/or physician. The primary location is Stow, with floating to the Tallmadge, Bath, POB, and Green facilities about once per month. The job details list a day shift and a Monday-through-Friday schedule; the detailed schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing.
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• One year of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under the direction of an RN and/or physician.
• Collect and document objective and subjective patient data and observations.
• Complete nursing assessments and report all data.
• Implement the current nursing care plan, medications, or treatments and communicate patients’ responses.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.
• Float to Tallmadge, Bath, POB, and Green facilities about once per month.
