About The Position

The Side Loader Operator is responsible for all operating functions of the side loader, focusing on meeting quality, productivity, and safety goals as outlined in the quality system. All work instructions must be followed as outlined. The primary function is to safely support the Shipping Department and the Packaging Lines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED)
  • Mobility in plant
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
  • Frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Visual ability with or without correction
  • Communication abilities
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
  • Follow Company safety rules
  • Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
  • Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn: Safety shoes, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Hard Hat
  • Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy
  • Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines
  • Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Abide by the Acerinox Code of Conduct
  • Keep oneself informed through your company email account
  • Maintain your Dynamic Policy Profile and all assigned learnings therein
  • Abide by all security procedures
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to learn, adapt, and retain information
  • Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Some areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as: Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely support the Shipping Department and Packaging Lines.
  • Store material from the pack lines.
  • Remove material from the racks for Shipping.
  • Perform storage rack inspections and fix any issues noted. Report any issues that cannot be corrected to their supervisor.
  • Ensure the correct parking for any material moved is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in relevant continuous improvement programs.
