About The Position

IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated, part-time Instructional Assistant for their K-1 grade levels. This position operates on a modified, year-round school schedule, with approximately 30 hours of work per week. The role does not include benefits, and salary will be determined based on IC Imagine’s Salary Schedule.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma
Proficiency with GSuite
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Maintain effective working relationships
Possess strong time management skills
Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times

Responsibilities

Maintain positive communication with students and teachers.
Work cohesively in a team setting.
Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff.
Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system.
Support grade level teams by carrying out clerical tasks.
Assist teachers in organization of materials and classrooms.
Carry out small groups as needed for grade level teams/classroom teachers.
Communicate with teachers about grade level and classroom needs.
Support in classrooms during instruction, as needed, to help students stay engaged and on task.
Independently execute activities.
Follow processes laid out in the employee handbook.
Respond to emails in a timely manner.
Ensure timely feedback is given.
Assist in arrival and/or dismissal, as needed.
Provide coverage for K-5 classrooms, as needed.
Provide lunch coverage for 2 classrooms daily.
Provide recess supervision, as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.
