About The Position

Amteck, LLC is hiring an Estimator for its Technologies division. The role prices infrastructure and systems projects, including access control, intrusion, CCTV, and special systems, while managing multiple bids and prioritizing them according to time constraints and customer and department needs. The Estimator may attend site surveys, pre-bid meetings, project meetings, and client meetings, where they present proposals and scopes of work. The position calls for a strong background in low-voltage installation on large commercial projects and knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards and BICSI best practices. Estimators in the Lexington office report to the Regional Manager. This is an office-based position with minimal travel as needed.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience estimating low-voltage commercial projects.
Experience working on heavy commercial or light industrial projects with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $2 million.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Fluency in ANSI/TIA standards and BICSI best practices.
Strong conflict-resolution and risk-management skills.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, and estimating software.

Nice To Haves

Experience pricing installation of access control, intrusion, and CCTV systems; this experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with Accubid and Accubid Anywhere estimating software; strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Price design and execution structures for large commercial projects, including special systems infrastructure and components, access control, intrusion, and CCTV.
Manage multiple project bids simultaneously and prioritize them according to customer and department needs.
Attend site surveys, pre-bid meetings, and project meetings as needed.
Recognize and communicate project risks.
Organize and prepare scopes of work and price proposals.
Attend customer meetings to present proposals and scopes of work efficiently.
Prepare complete estimates and pricing for the necessary work disciplines.
Analyze key project components that may help the company become the successful bidder.
Review successful bids and proposals with the project management team.
Assist with change-order pricing as needed.
