About The Position

Brightstar seeks a Lottery Field Services Technician in Austin, TX to service equipment at retailer locations. This role is part of our award-winning lottery services team and involves regular fieldwork, driving, and customer support. The technician will be responsible for transporting, installing, and maintaining Brightstar equipment, replacement parts, tools, and supplies in an organized and structured manner. They will also attend driver training, follow Brightstar's vehicle policy, and maintain equipment to ensure continuous operation. Troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, including swapping failed units, cleaning, and making minor adjustments, is a key responsibility. Effective communication with Dispatchers, accurate reporting of activities and issues, and delivery of marketing supplies and consumable parts are also required. Additionally, the technician will deliver basic training to new retailers or refresher training to existing ones on procedures like changing paper and ribbon, and complete primary forms for reporting activities and equipment problems.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED equivalent required.
• 1 or more years of experience in a customer service-related position
• 1 or more years of experience in technical repairs
• Must possess a valid driver's license, have a good driving record, and demonstrate the ability to perceive colors correctly.
• Must be able to climb a ladder, lift and carry equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds for a significant distance (e.g., from a parked vehicle to a point within the Retailer's location or to the rooftop of the retailer's location).
• Must be able to sit and drive for prolonged periods of time, demonstrate dexterity when working with tools, and work with moving parts and electrical current.
• May work at heights (rooftop) for installation of equipment, work in close quarters, and/or be exposed to inclement weather during some installations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for transporting, installing, and maintaining Brightstar equipment, replacement parts, tools, and supplies in an organized and structured manner.
• Attend driver training and follow Brightstar's vehicle policy regarding the use and maintenance of company vehicles.
• Maintain equipment to promote the continuous operation of Brightstar equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment to restore it to working order in the field. This may include swapping failed equipment, cleaning it, and making minor adjustments to the malfunctioning component.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with Dispatchers. Accurately report activity, arrival and departure times, problems, details, and resolutions of failures to Dispatch.
• Deliver marketing supplies and consumable parts, such as paper, ribbons, and bet slips, and track the inventory of these items.
• Deliver basic training to new retailers or refresher/remedial training to retailers performing procedures incorrectly, such as changing paper and ribbon.
• Complete primary forms for reporting activities, equipment problems, recommendations for procedure improvements, etc.
