About The Position

This role is responsible for organizing and maintaining the placement of vehicles within designated zones, conducting vehicle condition checks, overseeing lot coordination to ensure continuous traffic flow, and managing keys for unsafe vehicles. The specialist will monitor traffic for potential blockages, direct drivers and transporters, report transport damage, and confirm vehicle operability. A key part of the role involves inputting accurate vehicle information into a handheld device and supporting safety activities to foster a culture of safety excellence. The specialist is expected to champion Cox/Manheim values and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump starting vehicles)
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Must work at a specified Cox location.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone or move to defined area.
  • Conduct walks to identify vehicles condition as runners/non-runners.
  • Oversee lot coordination to maintain the continuous flow of traffic.
  • Pull and maintain the keys for any unsafe vehicles and report to management.
  • Monitor traffic identifying potential traffic blockage.
  • Direct drivers on vehicles assignment.
  • Move running vehicles and stage them in a safe arrangement to their proper work destinations.
  • Direct transporters to the proper car drop zone.
  • Report transport damage as needed.
  • Confirm with the transporters that all vehicles being delivered are inoperable.
  • Input accurate vehicle information into handheld device using crew management reporting problems and additional notes.
  • Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with safety excellence.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
