About The Position

CarHop is seeking a Lot Assistant to support vehicle inspections, light repairs, vehicle transport, detailing, and upkeep of its sales lot and shop spaces. The position works at both the Springfield and Joplin locations using a company car. The role includes documenting reconditioning activities in a computerized inventory tracking system and coordinating more complex repairs with local vendors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic mechanical skills and the ability to complete light mechanical repairs, such as replacing batteries, lamp bulbs, and belts.
Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
Strong verbal communication, problem-solving, and independent work skills.
Successfully complete pre-employment criminal background and motor vehicle records inquiries.
Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.

Previous mechanics experience.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-delivery inspections of vehicles before they are moved onto the lot.
Identify and diagnose basic mechanical or electrical concerns on vehicles.
Complete simple repairs when appropriate, such as replacing batteries or bulbs and topping off fluid levels.
Coordinate with preferred local repair vendors to ensure complex repairs are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Transport vehicles to and from auctions or repair shops as needed.
Detail vehicles when necessary.
Deliver parts to repair shops when needed.
Maintain vehicles on the sales lot and maintain the shop space.
Document reconditioning activities in the computerized inventory tracking system.
