About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role helps identify and resolve internal and external theft, supports shrink-reduction goals, and promotes a safe store environment. The Detective conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The position also involves providing courteous, knowledgeable customer service; protecting confidentiality; preparing and distributing accurate, timely paperwork; and maintaining appropriate evidence. The Detective demonstrates understanding of law-enforcement procedures and participates professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls. Shrink-related activities are coordinated with Store Management, and the role adheres to labor laws and company policies and procedures. This position is located at Marshalls Store 0726, 1832 86th Street, Brooklyn, New York. Starting pay is $14.55 to $20.40 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions according to established policies and guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Follow established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law-enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, including police calls.
Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
