About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs, maintains positive relationships with Store Management, and conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines. The role communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives and identifies and resolves internal and external theft. The position supports store shrink reduction goals, safety awareness, and a safe environment. It also involves investigations and surveillance, accurate and timely paperwork, appropriate evidence handling, and professional participation in legal activities as needed. The Detective provides courteous, knowledgeable customer service and promotes honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.

Requirements

0–2 years of retail or security experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates on damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service.
Promote a culture of honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and professionally participate in legal activities as needed.
Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
