About The Position

The Loss Prevention Associate maintains a professional, visible presence to deter internal and external theft while helping provide customers with a safe and pleasant shopping experience and associates with a positive work environment. The role fosters rapport with employees and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity. This is a full-time position that regularly requires nights and weekends.

The associate follows the schedule provided by the District Loss Prevention Manager (DLPM), wears the company-issued Loss Prevention vest or jacket during scheduled shifts, and maintains a highly visible position at the store entrance. The role observes and reports theft incidents or suspected theft to the manager on duty and the DLPM; the associate must not directly engage, confront, or follow suspected shoplifters outside the store.

Additional work includes supporting store security and safety standards, directing completion of Store Theft Reports when required, participating in loss prevention and safety programs, conducting store tours and audits as directed, keeping the front entrance clean and safe, and performing bag checks according to company guidelines. The associate may also be assigned other tasks by Loss Prevention Management.

Responsibilities

• Follow the schedule provided by the District Loss Prevention Manager (DLPM).
• Follow the company dress code, including wearing the company-issued Loss Prevention vest or jacket during scheduled shifts.
• Maintain a highly visible position at the store entrance during assigned shifts.
• Greet and acknowledge customers and associates as they enter and exit the store.
• Act as a deterrent, observe and report theft incidents or suspected theft to the manager on duty and District Loss Prevention Manager, and do not directly engage, confront, or follow a suspected shoplifter outside the store.
• Maintain open communication with store associates and team leaders.
• Support the store in maintaining company security and safety standards.
• Direct the store in completing Store Theft Reports when required.
• Participate in store loss prevention and safety programs.
• Conduct store tours and complete audits as directed by the DLPM.
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism.
• Ensure the front entrance is clean and safe for shoppers.
• Conduct bag checks according to company guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Loss Prevention Management.
