About The Position
This position is with Devereux Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to helping children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders. The CARES School in Fitchburg, MA, is a therapeutic day school serving individuals aged 6-21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability. As a Teacher, you will prepare and teach lessons aligned with the MA Curriculum framework and students' IEPs, supervise Teacher's Aides, meet student needs, and complete required documentation. The role offers the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals, positively impact vulnerable individuals, and build their strengths. A bachelor's degree is required, and Devereux can assist with licensure.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Massachusett's DESE licensure, or ability to be in process for licensure required
- Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach lessons in accordance with MA Curriculum framework and students' IEPs.
- Provide supervision of Teacher's Aides in the classroom.
- Work diligently to meet the needs of our students, both in the classroom, and by being a positive role model to others.
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
