About The Position

This role involves providing leadership to students in the learning process, understanding and implementing school rules and policies, and organizing the classroom for effective teaching and learning. The substitute teacher is responsible for student discipline within their classroom and during supervisory duties, fostering professional relationships with students, parents, and staff, and maintaining confidentiality. Additional assignments may be given by the building principal.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to students in the learning process.
• Become informed concerning rules, policies and regulations of the school and to interpret and carry out these regulations in their daily program.
• Organize his/her room so that teaching and learning can best be accomplished.
• Be responsible for the discipline of students in their classroom areas and supervisory duty.
• Develop effective professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of pertinent data/information.
• Achieve other assignments as assigned by the building principal.
