The Long-Term Substitute is a teacher who fills in for the same absentee teacher (classroom) for 11 or more days. The long-term substitute works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence. The Long-Term Substitute’s primary duty is teaching, tutoring, instructing, or lecturing to impart knowledge to students.
