About The Position
Centerpoint is a 16-bed Intensive Residential Treatment Program (IRTP) for emotionally disturbed adolescent males. The primary mission of Centerpoint is the treatment and rehabilitation of adolescent males with mental illness and challenging behaviors. Centerpoint provides a secure, clinically intensive residential program that enhances growth and coping skills. The program’s ultimate goal is to enable each resident to attain optimal psychological and social growth; to transition to a less restrictive setting and eventually into the greater community. In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for educating others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our youth!
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
- Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a Special Education or Mental Health setting is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop your skills in providing enriching academic assistance for our teachers and students in a Special Education setting.
- Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and by role modeling effective coping strategies.
- Help students discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more.
- Support students in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.
- Provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students.
