About The Position

Ontario Christian School is seeking a qualified Long Term Substitute Science Teacher who will contribute to our commitment to academic excellence and faith-based education. This educator will design and deliver engaging lesson plans while creatively integrating biblical truth into a rigorous, standards-based math curriculum. Through both instruction and mentorship, the teacher will guide students in their academic growth while supporting their spiritual development. The position primarily involves teaching AP Biology, Honors Biology and Anatomy, with the possibility of additional courses in other related science fields such as chemistry or environmental science based on the candidate’s background and experience. As a member of the Ontario Christian faculty, this individual is expected to demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to service. The Teacher will plan, organize and implement a biblically based, faith-integrated curriculum that guides, mentors and develops students both spiritually and academically.

Requirements

  • 0-3+ years of classroom teaching experience, teaching in an applicable grade or subject.
  • Prior experience working in a Christian school environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a teaching related field.
  • Current teaching credential or working towards a credential in the appropriate subject area.
  • Related education in the Christian faith.
  • Completion of student teaching.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Biblical principles.
  • Best practice teaching methods.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3+ years of classroom teaching experience in the applicable subject area.
  • Passion for collaborating with colleagues in a Christ-centered environment.
  • Experience in a Christian school setting is preferred.
