About The Position
The East Providence School Department is seeking a qualified and dedicated long-term substitute Kindergarten Teacher to begin in March and continue through the end of the school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in a kindergarten classroom and maintaining continuity of learning in alignment with district curriculum and expectations.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Elementary Education (Kindergarten–Grade 6)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Federal Background Check (BCI)
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience teaching kindergarten is preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with district and state standards
- Creating a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment
- Implementing lesson plans and classroom routines
- Assessing student progress and communicating effectively with school staff
- Collaborating with grade-level colleagues, support staff, and administration
- Upholding all district policies and procedures
