About The Position
This is a long-term substitute position for a 5th-grade teacher at Race Brook School. The role involves planning and delivering daily instruction, engaging students, differentiating learning, monitoring progress, and maintaining records. The substitute will also be responsible for attending meetings, preparing data, and maintaining student confidentiality. The term of employment is from August 26, 2026, through November 16, 2026.
Requirements
- Connecticut teaching certification covering grade 5
- Experience with elementary aged students
- Strong communication skills
- Collaborative with colleagues
- Strong classroom management skills for working with students

Responsibilities
- Plan day to day whole group, small group, and 1:1 instructional opportunities
