About The Position

We are seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Instrumental Music with strong content knowledge, teaching experience, and the confidence to instruct students in grades 5-8. The ideal candidate is skilled in teaching beginning through advanced musicians across brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. Ideally, candidates are comfortable with technology, committed to collaboration, and eager to join a community always looking to improve instructional practices. This position includes directing the winter concert.

Requirements

• Background check, including fingerprinting
• Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval Required
• Maine Department of Education Teaching Certification with Music endorsement (614) preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver daily lesson plans for instrumental music and band.
• Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
• Evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
• Effectively communicate with students, peers, parents, and administrators.
