About The Position

Peabody Public School District is hiring a Long-Term Science Substitute Teacher to cover for an absent classroom teacher or assistant teacher from March 1, 2027, through May 28, 2027. The role maintains meaningful instruction by helping students learn subject matter and skills required to achieve learning outcomes.

Pay is $120 per day for the first 20 days. Beginning on the 21st day, pay follows the teacher step/scale. Details are available in the Substitute Handbook under Human Resources attachments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• DESE Science License.
• Superintendent’s discretion.
• Required criminal history background check.
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal alien status.

• Maintain meaningful instruction for students during the regularly assigned teacher’s or assistant teacher’s absence.
• Help students learn subject matter material and skills required for learning outcomes.
