About The Position

Provide leadership and direction for the site’s day-to-day operations, processes, and systems. The role directly supports the general manager of a highly complex distribution operation across site safety, productivity, and associate engagement to improve operating efficiency and customer satisfaction. The position also demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

Associate degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.
At least 3 years of supervision experience in distribution or manufacturing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team and develop others.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and peers.
Strong follow-up and accountability skills.
Strong critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to draw conclusions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience managing both union and non-union associates.
At least 5 years of distribution or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations and align business, people, and safety practices to achieve key metrics at sites of high-level complexity.
Act as site leader in the general manager’s absence and lead department heads in collaborative problem-solving.
Ensure safe work methods and compliance with operating standards while maximizing productivity and performance.
Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce or distribute safe, quality foods and other merchandise that meet regulatory and company requirements.
Monitor and meet order-accuracy requirements, maintaining a Full, Fresh and Friendly mindset focused on quality receiving and shipping.
Understand how current technologies, regulations, and vendor or supplier dynamics affect the business.
Manage, plan, and control operating costs and facility budgets.
Manage the workforce to meet site business objectives.
Support collaboration with retail partners to improve service.
Travel as needed across the Kroger network.
Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
