About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Columbus, Ohio, at $17.00 per hour. This role involves long-distance driving throughout Ohio on a fixed Monday–Friday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to transport medical and related materials for healthcare clients, including lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, and interoffice mail. Route duties and assignments may vary based on client and business needs, and employees must be able to perform duties across assigned routes.

The driver uses a handheld scanning device to track items, follows operating procedures and service schedules, loads and unloads the vehicle, and completes pre- and post-trip inspections while keeping the vehicle clean and orderly. The role requires safe, courteous driving, professional interaction with clients and the public, and teamwork and adaptability. Candidates must meet the stated age and driving-license requirements, have an excellent driving history, and be able to meet the role’s physical requirements. Offers are conditional on completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review. COVID-19 vaccination proof may be required depending on location and local mandates.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass an initial and random drug and alcohol screen.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and lift items off storage racks.
• Comfort with walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Ability to meet varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup, drop-off, and route duties vary.
• Must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle over long distances throughout Ohio, transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Drive safely and courteously.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
• Perform duties across assigned routes and adapt to route changes based on client and business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
