About The Position
MedSpeed is hiring a Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Houston, Texas. The role involves driving a company-owned vehicle to transport medical supplies and materials for healthcare clients, including lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related items. Drivers use a handheld scanning device to track items, follow operating procedures and service schedules, and provide professional, courteous service to clients and the public. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM, at $15.00 per hour. Drivers pick up and drop off the company vehicle around the Westchase area of Houston. Route assignments and duties may vary with client and business needs, and employees must be prepared to perform duties across assigned routes. Requirements
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
- Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
- Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
- Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
- Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent driving history.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof may be required depending on location and local mandates.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including items from storage racks.
- Comfort with walking long distances and standing for long periods.
- Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands, even when drop-off and pick-up responsibilities or routes vary.
- Offer is conditional on completing a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
- Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
- Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
- Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
- Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
- Perform duties across assigned routes as required; route assignments and duties may change based on client and business needs.
- Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
