About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with organizations nationwide to transport medical supplies and specimens. The Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver transports laboratory specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, X-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company-owned vehicle. The position is based in Houston, Texas, and requires picking up and dropping off the vehicle daily around the Westchase area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 16:00 PM, at $15.00 per hour.

Drivers use a handheld scanning device to track items, follow operating policies and service schedules, load and unload vehicles, conduct vehicle inspections, and maintain a clean vehicle. Route responsibilities and assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift items off storage racks, and handle varying item weights and physical demands.
• Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport laboratory specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, X-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
• Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes and adapt to route changes based on client and business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
