About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Houston, Texas. The driver picks up and drops off a company vehicle daily around the Westchase area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at $15.00 per hour. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to transport medical and related materials for healthcare organizations. Training is provided through MedSpeed’s Blue Shirt Certified program. The role offers a fixed schedule and opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least three years.
Excellent driving history.
Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screens.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift items off storage racks.
Comfort with walking and standing for long periods.

Nice To Haves

Relevant industry or driving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Load and unload the company vehicle using appropriate equipment.
Use a handheld scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
