About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with organizations nationwide to transport medical supplies and specimens. The Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver drives throughout the DMV area to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. Most of the workday is spent in a company-owned vehicle. The role requires safe, reliable driving, accurate item tracking, compliance with operating procedures and service schedules, and professional interactions with clients and the public.

The position is based in Fairfax, Virginia, pays $18.00 per hour, and follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Route assignments and duties may vary with client and business needs, and employees must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. Candidates receiving an offer must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver's license for 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass an initial and random drug and alcohol screen.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and handle varying item weights and physical demands.
• Ability to lift items off storage racks.
• Comfort with walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Operate a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes as client and business needs require; route assignments may change.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
