Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! The Fleet Sustainment team is currently looking for a Logistics Project Manager. This position is responsible for supporting the operational management of ongoing logistics program activities and serving as a key liaison between program management, planning, project teams, and line leadership. Responsibilities include reviewing project and budget status, coordinating schedules, and preparing routine status reports to ensure program alignment and visibility. The role evaluates project issues and assists in developing effective resolutions that meet productivity, quality, and customer‑satisfaction objectives. Additional duties include creating and implementing mechanisms to monitor project progress and facilitating intervention and problem‑solving efforts in collaboration with project managers, line managers, and clients. This role is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of logistics experience, including five (5) years of experience in Navy Project Management involving all aspects of Logistics Support Planning and Execution on surface combatant programs, and five (5) years of experience in logistics planning and execution activities supporting a surface combatant program/project office (i.e., NAVSEA, NSWC, planning yards), to include experience in maintenance planning, supply support, and training.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or business-related field.
  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience.
  • Full working knowledge of program procedures and practices; ability to monitor daily work operations of exempt and/or non-exempt employees and provide direction to subordinates as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen eligible for such clearance.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including extended stays in support of overseas customer engagements.
  • Must possess a current passport.
  • Must be able to obtain base access and a CAC card.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or complex naval programs, including shipbuilding/overhaul environments.
  • Experience supporting international customer engagements involving foreign government information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling requirements.
  • A current or active DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing logistics program efforts and serve as liaison between program management and planning, and the project team.
  • Review the status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers and clients.
  • Oversee logistics support planning and execution activities, including maintenance planning, supply support, and training, for surface combatant and other programs.
  • Coordinate with shipyards, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and other subcontractors on materials and logistics support for ship alteration, repair, and overhaul work packages.
  • Support configuration management activities documenting the current status of ships, systems, and equipment.
