About The Position

The Logistics Planner coordinates inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle service activities, for customer orders and manufactured inventory between carrier and consignment locations. The role focuses on maximizing service and cost performance while meeting customer delivery requirements. The planner works with internal DHL Supply Chain teams and external customers and carriers to maintain consistent direction and expectations, and supports continuous improvement, compliance, and yard and shuttle service supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of logistics industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and validate daily load plans for cost and service using EFMS, Topex, a TMS system, or Red PrairieRoute interactive; expedite requests and honor all principal-requested carrier selections.
• Ensure carriers receive daily load tenders via 204, fax, or TMS equipment.
• Coordinate appointment acquisition to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Communicate frequently with internal DHL Supply Chain transportation, customer support, and operations teams, and with external carriers, client transportation teams, and client Customer Service Organizations.
• Coordinate carrier pickup times and provide the distribution center with a daily shipment plan.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities to improve financial performance and service levels and enhance value for internal and external customers.
• Identify compliance issues, participate in the metric feedback process, and propose possible remedies or action plans to the Operations Supervisor.
• Supervise yard and shuttle service.
