About The Position

The Logistics Planner coordinates inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle services, for customer orders and manufactured inventory between carrier and consignment locations. The role builds and validates daily load plans, expedites requests, coordinates appointments and carrier pickups, and communicates with internal teams and external customers to ensure service and delivery requirements are met. The planner also identifies continuous improvement opportunities, addresses compliance issues, contributes to metric feedback and supervises yard and shuttle service activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of logistics industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle services, to maximize service and cost performance for customer orders and manufactured inventory.
• Build and validate daily load plans for cost and service using EFMS, Topex, a TMS system, or Red PrairieRoute interactive; expedite requests and honor principal-requested carrier selections.
• Ensure carriers receive daily load tenders via 204, fax, or TMS equipment.
• Coordinate appointment acquisition to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Communicate frequently with DHL Supply Chain transportation, customer support, operations, carriers, client transportation, and client Customer Service Organizations to maintain consistent direction and expectations.
• Coordinate carrier pickup times and provide the distribution center with a daily shipment plan.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that improve financial performance and service levels and enhance value for internal and external customers.
• Identify compliance issues, participate in the metric feedback process, and propose potential remedies or action plans to the Operations supervisor.
• Supervise yard and shuttle service.
