About The Position

Reporting to Candu Logistics/Materials Management Manager, the Project Logistics Lead is responsible for the planning, coordination, feasibility analysis, and execution of logistics and international transportation activities supporting CANDU Field Services, CANDU Spare Parts, and CANDU Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) groups. The role enables the effective servicing of the global CANDU reactor fleet, supporting reactor maintenance, inspections, planned and unplanned outages, and life cycle services worldwide. The Logistics Lead - Candu Field Services interfaces closely with multiple Project Managers and operational teams to ensure that international transportation and shipping solutions are aligned with the applicable schedule, safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements. This position operates in a fast paced, high compliance and regulated environment, managing multiple equally critical priorities and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education with certification in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or Logistics.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in project logistics, international transportation and shipping, or similar senior logistics roles.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Extensive experience in international project logistics supporting industrial, energy, or highly regulated environments (nuclear or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of global transportation regulations, customs processes, and Incoterms.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment with multiple equally important priorities and shifting schedules.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage complex logistics activities involving numerous internal teams, external service providers, and international customers.
  • Ability to anticipate, assess, and resolve logistics issues and risks that may impact outage execution or project schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with project managers, suppliers, service providers, and customer representatives.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as logistics lead supporting multiple Candu services and supply scopes, including fleet maintenance, inspections, outage execution, and spare parts delivery.
  • Interfaces directly with the nominated project managers from Field Services, Spare Parts, and OEM teams to define, plan, and execute logistics strategies, shipments and transportation activities aligned with project schedules and customer needs.
  • Develops and executes logistics plans for the movement of equipment, tooling, and spare parts from suppliers, Candu controlled manufacturing facilities and intermediate warehouses to CANDU Nuclear Power Plans or other designated locations worldwide, in accordance with contractual Incoterms.
  • Performs logistics feasibility studies, schedule assessments, and risk evaluations for time critical, complex, or non routine shipments.
  • Serves as a primary interface and coordinator of activities developed by freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other transportation service providers supporting Candu Field Services shipments.
  • Ensures full compliance with applicable international and national regulations (including IAEA, IATA, ICAO, IMDG, and country specific customs and nuclear transport requirements).
  • Plans, schedules, and executes logistics activities supporting multiple concurrent work scopes, often under outage driven and schedule critical conditions.
  • Identifies logistics optimization opportunities related to shipment routing, transport modes, lead-times, and schedule efficiency.
  • Maintains accurate logistics records, including shipping documents, customs documentation, shipment tracking, delivery confirmations, and service provider billing support.
  • Provides logistics reporting, shipment status updates, and tracking for management and project teams.
  • Reviews, validates, and verifies logistics service provider invoices; escalates issues as required.
  • Supports logistics risk identification and mitigation; maintains active cargo risk tracking.
