About The Position

The Logistics Lead reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Project Manager. The Logistics Lead will perform duties related to operating, providing instruction, and maintaining various training to simulation models with respect to maneuver, aviation, fires, logistics, and intelligence operations. This role involves translating real-world or fictional force structures into simulation databases, studying and sanitizing classified material, and analyzing functional areas to identify strengths and weaknesses during simulation-supported events. The position also requires researching documents for data composition, editing doctrinal manuscripts, participating in reviews of simulation events and training, and providing analysis during exercises. Additionally, the Logistics Lead will assist in reviewing classified material, training on new simulation models or upgrades, analyzing emergent simulation technologies, documenting system properties, translating operations orders into simulation databases, conducting pre-event tests, and performing post-event critiques and analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years' experience in military training and education required.
  • Minimum five years’ operational experience in maneuver, aviation, fires, logistics, or intelligence operations as they pertain to computer-assisted exercises.
  • Minimum three years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at MAGTF or joint/combined command level as measured by actual operational force employment experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience conducting exercises or analysis efforts.
  • Minimum three years of experience in DOD modeling and simulation, and have previous experience with MTWS, and other simulation models such as CACCTUS, DVTE, JCATS, JSAF, OneSAF, CBS, or JTLS.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to design and write clear communications and present training programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be familiar with MEF and Combatant Command Operations Plans / Contingency Plans.
  • Must be capable of understanding the effects of weapons systems whose capabilities are retained above the SECRET//NOFORN level.
  • This position requires a Secret clearance level, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in operations research, management, military science, political science or equivalent area desired.
  • Completion of an appropriate level of professional military education such as Intermediate/Top Level School (ILS/TLS) is preferred.
  • Direct participation in real world operation is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, provide instruction, and maintain various training to simulation models with respect to maneuver, aviation, fires, logistics, and intelligence operations.
  • Translate real world or fictional enemy and friendly force structures into an exercise simulation database.
  • Study highly classified material and sanitize to a lesser classification level for entry into a model, simulation or report.
  • Provide analysis of a functional area (e.g., aviation, ground combat, command and control, combat service support, intelligence, and opposing forces) and identify strengths and weaknesses as they occur during a simulation-supported event.
  • Research documents and extracts or factual data for composition of military forces for a model/simulation.
  • Edit doctrinal manuscripts, analyze problem areas, and postulate feasible solutions for simulation and training events.
  • Participate in and conduct reviews and structured walk-through of simulation events and training, operation orders and plans, and information gathering requirements.
  • Provide analysis during exercises and attend conferences and meetings at both the resident site and other locations off-site.
  • Assist in reviewing classified material and recommend a lesser classification for use in events, models simulations, demonstrations, reports, and/or briefings.
  • Train on, operate, and maintain the functional areas of new simulation models or upgrades as they are introduced.
  • Provide analysis of emergent simulation technologies against stated requirements.
  • Draft test plans, conduct tests, publish test results, and maintain and archive simulation based training scenarios.
  • Document the salient properties of the system(s) being evaluated and their relevance to Marine Corps or Joint training.
  • Translate operations orders into simulation databases.
  • Conduct pre-event tests and evaluation of supporting databases, and parametric data.
  • Conduct post-event critique and analysis employing various after action review systems.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
