About The Position

The Director of Logistics is responsible for developing and executing the company's overall logistics and supply chain strategy to support rapid organizational growth and operational excellence. This executive leadership role oversees transportation, warehousing, inventory management, distribution, procurement logistics, and network optimization across all manufacturing, bottling, and distribution facilities. The Director of Logistics serves as a strategic business partner to Executive Leadership and works closely with Operations, Production, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and Quality to ensure the supply chain supports business objectives while maximizing customer satisfaction, profitability, scalability, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for establishing long-term logistics strategies, driving continuous improvement initiatives, leading organizational development within the logistics function, managing capital investments, and creating a world-class supply chain capable of supporting Ice Solutions' continued national expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required.
  • 7–10 years of progressive supply chain, logistics, or operations leadership experience with at least five years leading managers and multi-site operations.
  • Proven experience developing logistics strategy for a growing manufacturing or distribution organization.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution operations.
  • Strong understanding of ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply chain analytics.
  • Experience managing capital projects, logistics automation, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Proven financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, contract negotiations, and cost control.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence executive leadership and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and business decision-making capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience within liquid manufacturing, industrial chemicals, beverage, food processing, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Experience supporting nationwide distribution networks.
  • Knowledge of bulk liquid transportation, hazardous materials, and industrial storage requirements.
  • Experience implementing ERP, WMS, or TMS platforms.
  • Experience leading organizational change, acquisitions, or facility expansions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's long-term logistics and supply chain strategy aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Serve as a member of the Operations Leadership Team, contributing to company-wide strategic planning and operational decision-making.
  • Establish logistics policies, standards, and best practices across all company facilities.
  • Develop multi-year capacity planning strategies to support manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and distribution growth.
  • Lead supply chain risk management and business continuity planning.
  • Direct all logistics, transportation, warehousing, inventory, distribution, and material movement operations across multiple facilities.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, customer fulfillment, and transportation.
  • Develop scalable logistics processes capable of supporting future acquisitions, facility expansions, and new market growth.
  • Optimize warehouse utilization, transportation networks, inventory levels, and distribution strategies to improve efficiency while reducing total supply chain costs.
  • Lead network optimization initiatives including facility utilization, freight routing, inventory positioning, and distribution strategy.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives while maintaining customer service and operational performance.
  • Oversee freight procurement, carrier negotiations, transportation contracts, and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships.
  • Evaluate capital investments involving warehouse automation, equipment, transportation assets, and logistics technologies.
  • Monitor financial performance through key operational metrics and executive dashboards.
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics leadership team.
  • Establish organizational structure, staffing strategies, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Foster a culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, innovation, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, performance management, recruiting, and leadership development.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the logistics organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation, technology, process redesign, and data analytics.
  • Implement KPIs that measure operational efficiency, customer service, inventory performance, transportation costs, warehouse productivity, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
  • Utilize data-driven decision making to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop company-wide logistics safety standards and compliance programs.
  • Maintain strong internal controls surrounding inventory management, transportation, warehouse operations, and product traceability.
  • Lead emergency response planning and supply chain contingency strategies.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to support company growth initiatives and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to improve customer experience and service levels.
  • Work closely with Production and Procurement to align inventory strategies with manufacturing capacity and demand planning.
  • Support acquisitions, new facility startups, and operational integration projects.
