Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of logistics or supply chain experience, including 7+ years of transportation procurement experience (sourcing, contracting, category and supplier management); experience spanning both truckload and bulk/liquid modes preferred
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven track record of leading managers and building high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders from front-line employees to the VP/President level
  • All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Set procurement strategy across truckload, flatbed, intermodal, and dry/liquid bulk sourcing, and directly manage, coach, and develop the Bulk and Truckload Procurement Managers.
  • Approve large-scale sourcing events and make final award decisions on strategic or high-value opportunities.
  • Own top-tier carrier relationships across both networks, set scorecard and KPI targets (OTD, acceptance, cost, compliance), and direct corrective action when performance falls short.
  • Monitor transportation market trends (capacity, rates, regulatory conditions) and brief executive leadership on cost and service impacts.
  • Serve as the primary procurement liaison to business unit presidents and executive leadership on cost, service, and sourcing strategy.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Master Data leadership on cross-functional initiatives affecting procurement, routing, and budget processes.
  • Own the procurement budget and cost-savings targets, and lead negotiation of the most strategic, highest-value carrier contracts.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of sourcing processes and reporting, and prepare executive-level business reviews on procurement performance.
