About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for daily support functions essential to managing and tracking the railcar and trucking fleet. This role involves generating new rail sites, prospecting new trucking brokers, training sites on shipment creation, coordinating brokerage accounts and 3PL companies, distributing PO numbers, creating bills of lading and EDI instructions, tracing and tracking shipments, verifying tonnage, managing order completion, negotiating lane rates, tracking bad ordered/lost cars, maintaining records and generating reports, assisting with accidents/spills/maintenance, providing trace reports, providing inbound rail car reports, ticketing material shipments, noticing shipments in customer systems, maintaining rail car shipment records, assisting sites with rail car needs, providing bills of lading to customers, tracking load frequency of private cars, and occasional travel as needed for development. The position also includes other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Asset Management System
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends depending on business needs

Responsibilities

  • Generate new rail sites for railcar fleet
  • Product new trucking brokers
  • Train sites to create new shipments by way billings
  • Coordinate and manage brokerage accounts and 3PL (third party logistics) companies
  • Distribute PO numbers to trucking company for pick up and delivery shipments
  • Create accurate bill of lading and release EDI instructions for rail shipments
  • Trace and track shipments from origin to destination daily
  • Verify daily shipment tonnage and manage order completion
  • Manage and negotiate improved lane rates
  • Track cars that are bad ordered/lost with railroad or plant
  • Maintain records and generate reports for leadership
  • Assist in responding to any accidents, spills, or maintenance issues following company policies
  • Provide daily trace reports of all shipping movements to leadership
  • Provide inbound rail car reports to each location weekly
  • Ticket material shipments from third party sites
  • Notice all shipments in customer system
  • Maintain records of rail car shipments and ticketing
  • Assist sites with rail car needs and ordering
  • Provide bill of ladings to customers
  • Track load frequency of private cars
  • Occasional travel as needed for development
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager
