About The Position

A Logistics Coordinator oversees rail and container operations, plans loads, tracks shipments, and secures carrier capacity. They communicate with customers and teams, resolve issues, and maintain accurate records to ensure efficient, reliable, and timely logistics.

Requirements

• Ability to plan, schedule, and execute multiple shipments while maintaining attention to detail.
• Skilled in building rapport, sharing timely updates, and maintaining positive relationships with internal teams, customers, and carriers.
• Capable of negotiating carrier rates, setting P&L margins, and making informed operational decisions.
• Strong analytical skills to investigate delays or errors, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Proficient in managing documentation, updating systems, and maintaining accurate operational records.
• Able to adjust schedules, carriers, and resources in response to changing operational needs or unexpected issues.
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with logistics management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize rail and container operations to ensure equipment availability, customer appointments, and accurate load schedules.
• Track shipments, monitor ETAs, and ensure timely pickup, delivery, and ingate to rail.
• Source and negotiate carrier rates, balancing service quality and profitability goals.
• Communicate with customers, carriers, and rail partners to provide updates, resolve delays, and maintain strong relationships.
• Investigate and resolve shipment, billing, and equipment issues to ensure smooth operations.
• Update internal systems with accurate load, billing, and carrier data to maintain organized and compliant records.
