Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency with RF Scanners.
  • Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) functions.
  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities, count inventory, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 2-4 years proven forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all assigned operational activities daily.
  • Oversee associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product.
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
  • Assist in forklift operation and certification for associates.
  • Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments to maximize productivity.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate product counts.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders onto appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Process all shipping, receiving, and picking functions according to SOPs.
  • Research discrepancies in the shipping and receiving process.
  • Conduct yourself professionally in appearance and communications.
  • Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person.
  • Prepare required activity reports accurately and efficiently for site management.
  • Ensure all product and/or orders are received or shipped correctly and accurately picked using appropriate documentation.
  • Verify products and/or orders meet quality standards, reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label product(s).
  • Process all quality control functions according to SOPs.
  • Report inconsistencies and/or problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Participate in quality meetings.
  • Comply with relevant ISO standards impacting the position, department, and company.
  • Execute all safety protocols and promote safety in all job tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and a clean, neat, orderly work area.
  • Assist in the security of the warehouse.
  • Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
  • Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve objectives.
  • Assist associates and temporary labor in completing productivity sheets and capturing production/payroll hours.
  • Assist the Supervisor in maintaining a productive workforce.
  • Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure correct implementation and effective job assignment.
  • Ensure associates handle products according to prescribed quality procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process, and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels for non-conformities.
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as guided by site management, including answering telephones, scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
