About The Position

The Logistics - Buyer/Planner bridges automotive suppliers and the production floor, managing purchasing and logistics to keep manufacturing operations running and customer shipments on time. The role secures materials, processes purchase orders, manages supplier performance and inventory, collaborates across departments, and ensures purchasing workflows meet IATF 16949 automotive and quality standards.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on purchasing or procurement experience, or a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Management or a related field.
• Understanding of automotive supplier expectations, single- and multi-level Bills of Material (BOM), and Quality/Environmental Management Systems.
• Familiarity with purchasing functions such as quotes, contracts, and terms, as well as production control, including scheduling and inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong organizational skills; and leadership or supervisory qualities.
• Completion of PMAC “Principles of Buying,” APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management, or equivalent practical experience.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with vendors and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Secure raw materials, production components, and MRO items from assigned suppliers.
• Process spot buys and purchase orders efficiently, and expedite critical materials to prevent factory downtime and support on-time customer shipments.
• Guide and develop vendors, evaluating costs, lead times, and performance to maintain an approved supplier list.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and lead regular cycle counts and audits in Plex to ensure inventory integrity.
• Collaborate with production supervisors, scheduling, customer service, and engineering to streamline approvals and logistics.
• Ensure purchasing workflows comply with IATF 16949 automotive and quality standards.
