About The Position

The Logistics Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate handling, storage, and movement of materials, products, and goods within our organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products within our organization. Your responsibilities will include the safe handling, storage, and movement of materials, contributing to our supply chain's success and overall operational excellence. The Logistics Associate will maintain effective communication and act as a liaison with other departments, such as Quality Control and Purchasing, to maintain continuous production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in logistics, material handling, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and computerized shipping software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, data entry, accuracy in documentation and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other related applications.
  • Understanding of quality systems and inspections.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Perform regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to your supervisor.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines, if applicable and trained.
  • Handle materials and products with care to prevent damage, contamination or quality issues.
  • Report any quality issues or concerns to your supervisor.
  • Responsible for receiving steel coils and production raw materials using our software system.
  • Applicant will be responsible for the safe storage and handling of the materials .
  • Participate in physical inventory if required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and contribute to a safe work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A forklift license
  • Experience in high-volume OEM Manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load, unload, and transport materials using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage.
  • Validate paperwork and sign for shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records related to material handling and inventory movements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork or electronic documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure entries into Shop Edge are recorded correctly.
  • Sort and organize shipments following FIFO procedures.
  • Ensure material is moved into and out of the shipping/receiving area to the appropriate warehouse location in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for properly labelling all incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Liaison with vendors regarding any shipping discrepancies and/or missing paperwork.
  • Inspect incoming material as per appropriate inspection procedures.
  • Ensure material is moved out of shipping/ receiving area to an appropriate location in a timely manner.
  • Ensure paperwork is filed and passed onto appropriate departments promptly.
  • Responsible for proper tracking of empty containers.
  • Responsible for ensuring all parts are packed in preparation for shipping.
  • Assist the Production Team with material movement as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
