About The Position

The Logistical Specialist is responsible for a wide range of duties related to the ordering, receiving, inventorying, and shipping of parts and materials. This role involves meticulous record-keeping, adherence to safety and regulatory procedures, and coordination with various internal and external entities to ensure the timely and accurate flow of supplies. The position requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management systems, and relevant government regulations. The specialist will also be involved in the maintenance and repair of equipment and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. This role may also involve training lower-level personnel and performing duties of other classifications as needed.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience in automated inventory control of parts, materials and equipment management, property management functions, or Satisfactory completion of T45 OJT Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
• Must be able to obtain the level of Security Clearance required by the Government.
• Must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment in accordance with Executive Order 14042 (exceptions granted on a case-by-case basis for religious or medical accommodation).
• A vaccination status form and proof of vaccination, if applicable, is required.

Nice To Haves

• Aviation supply experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orders and receives parts and materials using NALCOMIS and SAP.
• Processes Ready-For-Issue and Non-ready-For-Issue components to maintenance activities and Beyond-Capability-Maintenance (BCM) items to off-site repair facilities.
• Issues, receives, and inventories flight packets.
• Prepares, receives, inspects, inventories, loads, unloads, transports, segregates, routes, stores, stacks, issues, turns-in, ships, and delivers incoming and outgoing freight.
• Compares packing lists, receiving documents, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other documents with contracts, purchase orders, or requisitions to verify accuracy.
• Inspects, tags, labels, counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Updates records, receipts, and other applicable documents using data processing equipment.
• Processes Unsatisfactory Reports and Supply Discrepancy Reports for discrepancies like overages, shortages, and substitutions.
• Processes Beyond Capability Maintenance (BCM) or Beyond Economical Repair (BER), and Beyond Physical Repair (BPR) components for disposition by generating required documentation and data entry into PCARRS.
• Coordinates and processes shipments through Transportation Agencies and other entities.
• Arranges property storage areas to facilitate issue, inventory, and rotation of stocks.
• Affixes location symbols on storage areas, shelves, and bins.
• Segregates property by type or class in accordance with fire and safety regulations.
• Establishes and designates storage areas or stock rooms to prevent deterioration and destruction of property.
• Establishes and maintains hazardous and flammable storage areas.
• Stores, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste and materials.
• Controls the issue of sensitive, classified, and controlled items.
• Prepares and selects appropriate containers for storage or shipment of materials.
• Packs and crates parts and materials for shipment.
• Determines the method of shipment for all materials and waste, utilizing knowledge of regulations, shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Prepares, maintains, files, and completes forms, records, reports, logs, and other related documents.
• Maintains stock records, inventory records, and other applicable documents to create an audit trail.
• Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, or supplies stocked.
• Conducts physical inventories and posts totals to inventory records.
• Prepares inventory adjustment reports and other applicable documentation.
• Ensures vehicles, ground support, and material handling equipment are properly operated.
• Performs functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, paint, and preservation of ground support, material handling, special tools, and equipment.
• Performs daily office tasks such as filing, recording, copying, posting, typing, and answering phones.
• Prepares and maintains a functional file system.
• Uses, inspects, and maintains assigned personal safety equipment.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area.
• Develops, formulates, and improves methods, processes, and/or procedures to increase efficiency and quality.
• Provides technical assistance, guidance, and training to lower classified personnel.
• Participates in Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD) training.
• Uses approved methods/procedures in the performance of assigned job.
• Corrects/reports all observed unsafe practices/conditions.
• Demonstrates job procedures and assists in the training of employees.
• Complies with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control Programs.
• Complies with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations.
• Assists as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of Government/Company owned equipment and supplies.
• Works and communicates with internal and external clients and customers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• May be required to perform duties of lower classified employees.
• May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
• Must have a working knowledge of FAR Part 52 as it applies to this contract and their assigned responsibilities.
• Must have knowledge of aviation tools, supplies, and supply system and the ability to understand and read supply and aircraft publications.
