About The Position

This role will support the reliable and cost-effective movement of aircraft parts, rotables, consumables, engines, tooling, ground support equipment, and other aviation materials across our network. This role is responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, customs clearance, freight forwarders, carriers, brokers, and supporting documentation. In addition to daily shipment execution, the position is expected to actively reduce freight and customs-related costs through improved routing, carrier management, invoice validation, contract utilization, billing analysis, process improvement, and enhanced shipment visibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of experience in logistics, transportation, customs, freight forwarding, supply chain, aviation materials, MRO, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in supply chain, logistics, transportation, international trade, aviation management, business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with air, ground, courier, international freight, customs brokerage, freight forwarders, and carrier management.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export requirements, trade agreements, tariff classification, customs clearance, and shipping documentation.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to climb more than 10 steps in a warehouse environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CCS, CIFFA, CITT, or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Aviation, airline, aerospace, MRO, aircraft parts, AOG, or time-critical logistics experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing freight invoices, validating carrier charges, analyzing logistics costs, and supporting contract or rate optimization is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, increase shipment visibility, and reduce logistics costs.
  • Experience with SAP, MRO systems, inventory systems, freight portals, or transportation management systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective movement of aircraft parts, rotables, consumables, engines, tooling, and ground support equipment across all stations, suppliers, repair vendors, and maintenance locations.
  • Coordinate domestic, transborder, and international shipments, including air, ground, courier, expedited, oversized, multimodal, AOG, and time-critical movements.
  • Select the most appropriate freight mode, carrier, route, and service level based on urgency, operational impact, delivery requirement, and total cost.
  • Actively reduce freight, customs, brokerage, storage, demurrage, expedited shipping, accessorial, and other logistics-related costs.
  • Validate freight, broker, courier, and carrier invoices against quotations, contracts, rate cards, shipment records, and service levels.
  • Identify and recover billing errors, duplicate charges, incorrect accessorial, avoidable premium freight, and non-compliant routing costs.
  • Track shipments from sourcing, repair, or purchase order through pickup, transit, customs clearance, delivery, receipt, and closure.
  • Improve shipment visibility, tracking processes, dashboards, escalation procedures, routing guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Proactively resolve shipment delays, customs issues, documentation gaps, routing problems, carrier failures, and delivery exceptions.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, import/export, dangerous goods, trade, aviation, and shipping documentation requirements.
  • Provide guidance on HS codes, tariff classification, country of origin, Incoterms, valuation, free trade agreements, and repair-and-return shipments.
  • Manage day-to-day coordination with Maintenance, Materials, Procurement, Stores, Finance, suppliers, repair vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and station teams.
  • Support carrier, broker, and freight forwarder performance reviews, rate optimization, contract improvements, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze logistics data and report on freight spend, customs costs, on-time delivery, shipment exceptions, premium freight usage, billing discrepancies, carrier performance, and savings opportunities.
  • Support routine, urgent, and AOG logistics requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
