About The Position

Hilo by Aktiia is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee the day-to-day Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) logistics execution for their Webshop and Amazon operations across the USA and Canada. This role is crucial for ensuring that Hilo Bands reach customers on time, enabling them to manage their blood pressure. The position involves managing daily fulfillment and outbound logistics, inbound transportation from factories to regional warehouses, last-mile delivery, returns, and maintaining daily relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) partners and carriers. The company operates a global network of six 3PL partners, including a new partner in the US. The impact of this role lies in running operations smoothly, resolving issues proactively, and continuously improving logistics flows for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. While contributing to the overall logistics strategy, the network architecture is handled by Operations leadership. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, requiring close collaboration with Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Quality, and Customer Service teams. There is potential for growth as the network expands.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain operations, ideally in D2C or e-commerce and international distribution.
  • Proven experience managing 3PLs, carriers, and cross-border shipments.
  • Solid working knowledge of last-mile delivery, Amazon fulfillment, and international shipping fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with logistics or ERP tools.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent English, written and spoken.
  • USA based.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to warehouses in Switzerland, Germany, UK, Canada, Australia, and the USA.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Minimum half-day working hours to overlap with European-based team (CET).

Nice To Haves

  • BSc in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is also valued.
  • Chinese language proficiency.
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other quality-regulated logistics.
  • Experience setting up logistics operations in a new market.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end D2C logistics for Webshop and Amazon across the USA and Canada.
  • Run daily fulfillment and outbound logistics from order processing through final delivery, including last mile, returns, and issue resolution.
  • Resolve exceptions quickly and effectively to minimize customer impact.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of the overall logistics strategy.
  • Manage and scale a multi-3PL network, including the ramp-up of the US operation.
  • Own Service Level Agreements (SLAs), performance reviews, and capacity planning with logistics partners.
  • Serve as the daily operational contact for 3PLs and carriers, fostering relationships built on trust and clear expectations.
  • Own inbound transportation from factories (e.g., China, Vietnam) to regional warehouses.
  • Lead inbound carrier selection, route design, rate negotiation, and cost-to-serve optimization.
  • Coordinate freight booking, shipping schedules, and handovers to logistics partners.
  • Manage customs clearance processes and import documentation.
  • Ensure product integrity for temperature, humidity, and pressure-sensitive devices.
  • Maintain inventory visibility across warehouses and sales channels.
  • Coordinate replenishment to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Define and track logistics KPIs (e.g., OTIF, lead time, cost per shipment, return rate) and report them for business action.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Quality, and Customer Service.
