About The Position

This locum physician position focuses on Anesthesiology, providing comprehensive anesthesia management for a variety of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions. The role involves working within a care team model, including oversight of CRNAs. The case mix includes Thoracic, Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Pediatric, and Obstetric anesthesia. The work environment is primarily inpatient, with responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases. Approximately 20% of cases are inpatient and 80% are outpatient. Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) involves managing up to 4 active cases across 3 rooms under a Physician Direction Model. The primary EMR system is EPIC, with Dragon for dictation.

Requirements

• U.S. medical degree or equivalent international degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program.
• Eligible or possess an unrestricted medical license in Michigan.
• Possess a Controlled Substance License.
• Current PALS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Evidence of proficiency with involvement in 100 or more hospital anesthesiology cases within the past 12 months, aligned with requested privileges.
• Eligible for Michigan license or IMLC.
