About The Position

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential pathology coverage and support high-quality patient care within a collaborative clinical environment. In this role, you will deliver diagnostic pathology services, including the evaluation of laboratory specimens, interpretation of test results, and communication of findings to referring physicians and care teams. You will work closely with laboratory staff and other medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses that directly support patient treatment decisions in the medical practice setting.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pathology
  • Valid medical license to practice in Texas
  • Associate-level experience in pathology or a related clinical setting
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site medical practice environment
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and diagnostic tools
  • Willingness to work on a contract basis with flexible scheduling as needed
  • Board-certified

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluation and interpretation of pathology specimens
  • Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports for referring physicians
  • Review laboratory test results and correlate findings with clinical information
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain quality assurance standards
  • Consult with physicians and care teams regarding pathology findings
  • Document all diagnostic interpretations in accordance with medical standards
  • Participate in quality control and quality improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
  • Stay current with advances in pathology and diagnostic medicine
  • Support the medical practice in delivering timely diagnostic services
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Apheresis, red blood cell exchange, transfusion reaction review, coagulation and interpretation testing, and hemoglobin electrophoresis review
  • Teaching residents
