About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Hospitalist MD/DO capable of working in the ICU. The role involves providing inpatient care and requires significant experience in respiratory and critical care procedures. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible and possess ACLS certification. The facility uses EPIC and Dragon for EMR and dictation. A Michigan license or IMLC is required. Candidates must have at least 50 inpatient case logs from the last 12 months for verification.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE).
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Substantial experience in respiratory and critical care.
  • Experience in ICU procedures.
  • Must be able to request and have verified core privileges and procedures including: Moderate Sedation, Lumbar Puncture, Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation, Paracentesis and Thoracentesis, Ventilator Management, Chest Tube Insertion, Insertion of PICC Lines, Arterial Lines, and Central Venous Lines, Arterial Line Insertion and Removal, Tracheostomy Care, Management of tension pneumothorax in emergencies, External pacing management.
  • Must have a current Michigan license or an IMLC.
  • A minimum of 50 inpatient case logs within the last 12 months must be available for verification.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates based in Michigan or those who can commute from nearby areas will be considered.
  • Intensivists and Pulmonologists are not eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient care only.
  • Perform respiratory and critical care procedures.
  • Manage patients requiring ventilator support, including weaning and oxygen therapy.
  • Perform procedures such as moderate sedation, lumbar puncture, endotracheal intubation and extubation, paracentesis and thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, insertion of PICC lines, arterial lines, and central venous lines, arterial line insertion and removal, tracheostomy care, management of tension pneumothorax, and external pacing management.
  • Utilize EPIC and Dragon for EMR and dictation.
