About The Position

The painter/sandblaster cleans, sandblasts, prepares, and paints locomotives and locomotive components. The role is currently hiring for the night shift, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The position requires working safely, consistently, and accurately, including with little or no supervision, and completing and documenting jobs in accordance with traveler requirements, QWIs, and work instructions.

Requirements

• High school education or GED.
• Ability to work around and operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment.
• Ability to use pressure washers, pressurized paint delivery systems, sandblasters, and other equipment.
• Must use a full-face respirator with a filter or fresh air.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in industrial painting or auto body.
• Industrial paint or auto body collision experience.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean locomotives and locomotive components.
• Prepare locomotives and components before painting.
• Paint and clear coat locomotives and components.
• Install decals.
• Work consistently, accurately, and safely with little or no supervision.
• Read precision instruments, micrometers, and gauges accurately and safely.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Complete and document jobs in a timely manner in accordance with traveler requirements, QWIs, and work instructions.
• Work around and operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment.
• Use pressure washers, pressurized paint delivery systems, sandblasters, and other equipment.
